Guided Rides

During the 2012 Spring Classics period we will be offering up daily free guided rides (except on race days and the Tour of Flanders Sportive) to all staying in and around the Oudenaarde area.

Whats the deal?

  • Show up with your bike and gear ready to ride (psssst don’t forget to carry an extra tube, ride food and plenty of water)
  • Several distances and speeds available to suit most abilities
  • Guides will be comprised of locals and honourary Flandriens
  • Routes will favor the Flemish Ardennes and will vary from day to day, so you’ll be sure to get your fill of cobbles and Flemish climbs!
  • Guides may choose to charge a nominal fee for a cafe stop along the route (they’ll let you know at the start)
  • Though these rides are free we do recommend that you tip your guide based on what you think their time and expertise was worth to you.
  • Contact us if you need help sourcing rental bikes in the area.

We’ll also be offering up 2 fully supported rides for the Paris-Roubaix course (starting at the Arenberg Forest, and finishing at the Roubaix Velodrome) and a West Flanders ride (including the Kemmelberg and Rodeberg starting and finishing at cafe “In de Vrede” across the street from the Sint Sixtus Abbey where the world famous Westvleteren beer is brewed). More details can be found here.

Check back to this space for more details (dates, time and location) as they become available.
