If you aren’t lucky enough to snag one of our B&B&B rooms, but would like to join us for one of our supported rides or our race day viewing of GP Scheldeprijs you may just be in luck as we have some spaces in these excursions available to non ChainStay guests.
West Flanders Ride: April 2nd 2012 €75 p.p
This fully supported ride covers the Kemmelberg and Rodeberg; climbs best known for their inclusion into the Gent-Wevelgem race course. The ride starts and finishes at cafe “In de Vrede” across the street from the Sint Sixtus Abbey where the world famous Westvleteren beer is brewed. Included is transport to and from the start and finish in Westvleteren from Oudenaarde, ride food and drinks, van support, post ride taste of the famous dark Westvletern 12 (or whatever else you prefer) and a delicious sampling of Abbey made cheeses and pate. We recommend this ride to participants who are able to maintain a pace of 25-27km/h (15-17 mi/h) for at least 60 km (38 mi), in order to get the most out of this ride experience.
Paris-Roubaix Ride: April 6th 2012 €100 p.p
This fully supported ride covers the cobbled roads from the Hell of the North; Paris Roubaix. The ride starts at the Arenberg Forest, and finishes at the Roubaix Velodrome. Included is transport to the start and end of the ride from Oudenaarde, ride food and drinks, lunch stop mid ride, and van support throughout the ride. Though it is possible to abandon a ride early, to gain the most from your experience we recommend this ride to those who are able to ride 90 km (56 mi) and maintain a pace of 25-27 km/h (15-17 mi/h) or more to be a good fit for this group ride.
GP Scheldeprijs Day Trip: April 4th 2012 €95 p.p
This is a race day viewing of the sprinters classic GP Scheldeprijs. We start the day off in Antwerp between the start podium in the market square and the riders area near the pier. In comparison to the larger one day classics the start here is much more accessible and much calmer atmosphere. So enjoy it!
From Antwerp we will move on to the finishing town just outside of the city where we will enjoy the day first with a very popular amateur kermess (a term used for smaller Belgian races that cover many loops of 6-15 km) before the pros cross the line to begin local laps of the finishing circuit. Though we can’t guarantee weather; for 2011 we sat basking in the sun, drinking beer and enjoying typical Belgian race food as the race unfolded before us.
Included in the day is transport to and from Antwerp from Oudenaarde, and a van lunch to enjoy enroute to the finishing town of the race.
