The spectacular and rough course of Ronse gave way to a new victor, Niels Albert. Albert finally took his win over Sven Nys. In fact the winning margin was almost a minute lead; after failing three times to Nys in sprint finishes in the past weeks. The only rider able to follow was Kevin Pauwels, who put up a good fight, but was unable to match Albert in the end. American Jonathan Page rode a solid race, bettering his lackluster performance from Ruddervoorde. Once again, New Zealands Alex Revell continued riding strong and winning over the crowds.
